Bathroom Remodeling Tips

So you are ready to upgrade your bathroom.  Maybe your master bath needs a new jetted tub, your kids are ready to flush the Sponge Bob wall paper down the leaking toilet or your guest powder room needs an addition of a new shower or walk in tub since you are expanding your home with a new guest room for your mother-in-law.  Maybe you just need new tile to spark up the guest restroom.  Whatever the reasons for your bathroom renovation project, here are a few bathroom remodeling tips and design ideas to jump start your bath home improvement project.

A good place to start your bathroom remodeling project is to start making a list of Likes and Dislikes of your current bathroom.   Then write down a few ideas of Likes and Dislikes from your friends and family bathrooms that you might help with your new bathroom design project.  Start slow and don’t rush, you should take a few weeks thinking about the project, sleeping over your new designs and discussing ideas with your friends and family.

You should also start thinking about your budget.  A home improvement project always comes down to the budget in the end, so make sure you are ready for the expense hit.  Remember, bathrooms and kitchens are always pretty good home improvement investments.

Once you have a list of things you like and a preliminary budget start collecting pictures of the items and designs that you would like to add to your new bathroom.  Make a collage of your perfect bathroom and then draw out a rough sketch of your proposed upgraded bathroom to match the new specification and size of your dream bathroom design.  After you have a good sketch and plan of your new bath, show it to friends and family for feedback.

Now that you have a good plan with your budget and custom bathroom design for your new bath, ask friends and family for referrals for home improvement contractors or if you’re in the Pittsburgh metro area contact Commonwealth Remodeling for a free estimate for you bathroom remodeling project.
